Jeff Schapiro President - Cleaner Supply, Inc.
Jeff is President/Founder of Cleaner's Supply, which is the largest supplier of dry cleaner products in the United States. Prior to starting Cleaner's Supply Jeff was a founder & principal of US Tuxedo which was one of the largest distributors of tuxedos in the northeast. Jeff lives in New York.
Chip Meakem General Partner - Kodiak Venture Partners
Chip Meakem has more than a decade of entrepreneurial and investing experience in the information technology industry that includes creating one of the first Web advertising networks in 1996 and leading the early-stage financing for in-game advertising pioneer, Massive Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft. As a General Partner at Kodiak, he focuses on Internet and new media investments, and is on the Board of Directors of Hanger Network and WeatherTrends. He also serves as an observer to the board of directors of portfolio company, Wireless China.
Chip joined Kodiak from Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham, where he was Managing Director. At DFJ Gotham Chip led investments and served on the boards of the following portfolio companies: ContextWeb; LiveAdvice (acquired by Ingenio); Massive Inc. (acquired by Microsoft); NanoOpto; Pantero (acquired by Progress Software); Practical Engineering; Q-Link Technologies (acquired by Adobe Systems); and Quantiva (acquired by NetScout Systems).
Prior to entering the investment community, Chip was a successful entrepreneur. During this time he served as Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at N2K Inc., a leading online music retailer, where he was responsible for strategic distribution partnerships with all major portals. Earlier, he was one of the first employees at Interactive Imaginations, a predecessor to 24/7 Media, Inc. At Interactive Imaginations, Chip created the Commonwealth Network (launched in Q1, 1996), one of the Internet's first advertising networks, building it from a concept to a large scale web media product with over 10,000 sites. Interactive Imaginations eventually became 24/7 Media, went public in 1998. Chip was also a personal seed investor in FreeMarkets Inc., which made its IPO in December 1999 and peaked at $12B market cap.
Chip holds a B.A. from Cornell University, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team, and an M.B.A. from Columbia University
Bob Davoli General Partner - Sigma Partners
Bob joined Sigma Partners in 1995 and has 25 years of experience in the high technology industry. His ability to identify and motivate innovative founding teams has been an essential ingredient of his investment success. Bob regularly leverages his deep operational experience and technology intellect to support the firm’s portfolio companies.
Most recently Bob was President & CEO of Epoch Systems, the leading vendor of client-server data management software products. He sold the firm in 1993 to EMC for $141 million. Previously, he was the Founder, President and CEO of SQL Solutions, a leading purveyor of services and tools for the relational database market. Bob sold SQL Solutions to Sybase for stock eventually worth over $100 million. Bob served as an executive officer of Sybase for over two years.
In recent years, Bob has appeared three times on the Forbes’ Midas list, a ranking of top venture capitalists. He also appeared on the cover of Business Week in a features story describing how VCs thrive through good and tough times. Bob has a B.A. in History from Ricker College and studied computer science at Northeastern University for two years.
Scott Yaphe Partnerhip, ABS Ventures
Scott invests in enterprise software, infrastructure and technology-enabled business services opportunities. Before joining ABS Yaphe was Director of Corporate Development at Saraide, a wireless software provider acquired by Infospace. Prior to that, he was a management consultant at A.T. Kearney focusing on the communications and technology sectors. Scott is on the board of directors of ScaleMP, Hanger Network and DAFCA and served on the boards of several other companies including Synchronoss Technologies (NASDAQ:SNCR), Workbrain (TSX:WB, acquired by Infor) and IQ Financial (acquired by Misys (LSE:MSY)). He received his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and MBA from Harvard Business School.
Lou Cortes The Standard Group (Advisor to the Board)
Lou Cortes, President of Paradigm Packaging Group, has been working in the paperboard packaging industry since 2000. Paradigm delivers to its customers a network of innovative and strategic suppliers of packaging and packaging-related products. In 2005, Paradigm was certified by the New York and New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. as a bona fide minority owned and operated business. Prior to founding Paradigm in 2004, Lou served as Vice President of The Standard Group, a leading independent converter of paperboard packaging products. Previously, Lou worked at Prudential Securities as an analyst in the Investment Bank's High Technology Group, with a focus on printing and imaging companies. He currently serves as a member of the Paperboard Packaging Council's Technical and Production Committee. Lou graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in Economics. He lives in New York City with his wife and son.
Bob Glaspey General Manager - Altivity Packaging, LLC
Bob has over 25 years experience in the paperboard packaging industry all with Altivity and its previous iterations: Smurfit-Stone, Jefferson Smurfit Corporation and Container Corporation of America. Bob currently manages two folding carton facilities one in Valley Forge, PA and one in Piscataway, NJ. Both facilities produce high value added folding cartons with Piscataway a strong leader in the very demanding Cosmetics industry. Bob’s experience includes managing the largest coated 100% recycled board mill in the US. Prior to these senior level management assignments Bob had finance, sales and operation management assignments. Bob has served on the Board of Directors of The Manayunk Development Corporation, Historic Rittenhousetown and Concordia FCU. Bob graduated from United States International University with B.A in Economics. He lives with his wife Mimi in Radnor, PA
